My niece, Lydia, was near perfect for her newborn session on Monday. She was awake when I arrived which gave me the opportunity to photograph her all bundled up and with her eyes open. These first few photos are extra sweet because the blanket was hand made by our Aunt Barb. I love the opportunity with each newborn session to personalize the photos with a special blanket. This blanket was just the right size and the colors are very soothing and warm.

These next group of photos have Lydia on the blanket made by her Grandma or Nana. Again, the soft colors of the blanket were a perfect addition to this shoot. Lydia was also still awake for this portion of her session and I am glad we could capture her sweet face against the light pink of the blanket.
These are some of my favorite photos from our session. The headband is absolutely stunning and it looks like she is floating on a cloud. I love how we were able to post Lydia and keep her arms all tucked in near her head.

Finally, we rolled out the pink and bundled Lydia up for the last portion of our shoot. Not only do I think these photos are timeless but I was able to capture some sweet details of her newborn feet, nose and mouth. Its amazing how quickly these features will change so documenting them now was very special. Oh yes, just look at Lydia’s skin – its super clean and perfect!! Not much editing was involved in these photos because she is near perfect (Yes, I am one proud Aunt).
Nothing like a happy, sleepy baby to end our session. I left Lydia in the arms of her mommy who was most likely going to feed her soon after I left.
